When irish eyes AREN'T smiling...
If you're after a warm welcome and affordable drinks then this wouldn't be on the top of my list of pubs in Montpellier.
Maybe the three guys working behind the bar were having a bad day, but that was no reason to make ours worse.
Maybe my friend shouldn't have worn his england rugby shirt, but that's no excuse for barking out one word answers to our enquiries as to what beers were on offer.
That said, The Fitzpatricks is a great looking pub and when we did finally get served (we didn't want to interrupt the staff, they seemed so happy chatting amongst themselves) the guinness was great.
It's a shame that the grumpy staff seemed to resent our presence and that it cost the best part of 15 euros for two pints of the black-stuff.
It was my second visit to this busy Montpellier pub but it wasn't my last.
I had forgotten my newspaper.
