Built on the site of a former temple to Apollo, the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral went through a great many changes from the 5th to 17th century. Consequently, the outward appearance of this structure is a blend of the Roman, the Gothic and the Baroque.
The leaves of the main entry door, sculpted by Jean Guiramand in the 16th century, attract considerable attention from the many visitors that come by. Inside, the 'Buisson ardent' triptyque, produced by the painter Nicolas Froment on the orders of King René in the 18th century, is an especially popular feature. Lastly, the 12th century cloister, decorated with animal, vegetable and biblical motifs, adds an extra something to the charm and tranquillity of the place.
